Malbosc is a 17th century farm in the Cevennes in the valley of Mialet. The farm extends among wild lands and chestnuts forests. The splendid panorama opens on the mountains of Cevennes. By this twelve acres property, one can swim in the river called “le Gardon de Mialet”, with its ponds and its narrow gorges. Shallow waters by the side are accessible to children. All around one finds numerous opportunities for hiking and cultural activities and discovery.
The mountains of Cevennes highlight past religious History. Huguenots found refuge in this area where numerous historical and cultural sites are a reminder of the Camisards war.
The farm is located on Stevenson trail (GR70).
Those of you who are looking for wild life and nature will find many hiking and sheppards trails.
The nearest village, St Jean du Gard, is at 5 kms, with its traditional weekly market on Tuesday and its shops. Further away, at 15 kms, the small town of Anduze offers more shops and one can visit its bamboo farm.
Holiday apartments
The first holiday apartment is a small stone built house that was once used as a “clède” (chestnuts dryer). It is next to the main building, with a 25 m² terrace and a garden, opening view on the mountains and the river.
The second one is part of the farm with thick chestnuts doors and a ancient stone stone sink, witness of the past. Meals can be taken in a shadowy yard and one can rest in a big garden.
